When the Upson family lived in Michigan, Diana Upson farm-sat for local goat herds and fell in love with the animals she cared for.
"Playing with goats is the best therapy ever. I knew I eventually would have a goat farm.” Diana Upson
A few years ago, the Upson family moved to Floyd for the mountain culture and fresh air and found the perfect farm property to make Diana’s dreams come true.
Skipwillow Farm is truly a family-operated business. Diana manages the goat farm and vacation rental. Husband, Mark, does much of the construction and repairs on the farm.
Their oldest son, Oscar, takes care of the chickens and sells the eggs. Their daughter, Saffi, feeds the goats and helps with their care. Little Jackson collects eggs with Oscar and assists Mark in building projects.
To offer guests the opportunity to enjoy goat therapy and country farm living, the Upson family transformed a building on their property into a vacation rental—awarded super host status and high ratings on Airbnb.
The Upson family loves to share the beauty and joy of their country getaway and farming lessons.
